With the Spring/Summer 2026 collection “The Hunt,” designer Danny Reinke creates a powerful narrative of longing, transformation, and the search for inner freedom. Inspired by the famous Unicorn Tapestries from the late 15th century, Reinke takes the central motif of the unicorn hunt and transforms it into a multifaceted symbol. The hunt is understood not as an act of conquest, but as a quest for self-knowledge and personal growth.
The collection is deeply steeped in historical references from the late Middle Ages and the early Renaissance. Fashion archetypes of these eras—such as voluminous sleeve variations or bodice details—subtly flow into the contemporary designs, elegantly connecting the past with the present.
Various shades of green, such as olive and moss green, evoke a sense of nature, while pastel nuances and delicate butter yellows convey lightness and warmth. As a bright spot and a shining sign of new beginnings, multifaceted shades of yellow play a central role in the collection. Black and purple contrast sharply. They symbolize the tension between the hunt on the one hand and freedom on the other, and thus also their shared shadow side: the dark, the invisible.
The selection of fabrics reflects the high design and material standards: Flowing silk, delicate lace, finely crafted woolens, and opulent brocades blend into a sensual dialogue of materials. Elaborate handwoven compositions form the basis of central looks and point to the close connection with a traditional textile art. Crochet appliqués and fringes refine the designs, lending them an artistic structure and lively movement, and their attention to detail recalls artistic tapestries of bygone eras. Crafted from recycled yarns, these materials simultaneously tell a contemporary story of sustainability and appreciation.
Laces and bows permeate the collection as a central design element – both creatively complex and reminiscent of the symbolism of medieval garments. Sometimes delicate and playful, sometimes functional, they represent bonding, transformation, and the balancing act between holding on and letting go.
The silhouettes are flowing, close-fitting, and draping. They embrace the body with a natural elegance that defies any heaviness. Long dresses, figure-hugging, laced silk tunics, and sheer layers lend the collection an almost weightless presence, while the historical source of inspiration remains visually prominent – without ever descending into nostalgia.
“The Hunt” is a plea for inner transformation, for questioning old patterns, and for a new freedom of thought. The collection is made exclusively to order and from carefully selected deadstock materials – a clear commitment to sustainability, artisanal precision, and timeless excellence.
