Kanye West hinted a collaboration between his brand Yeezy and GAP by posting a photo on Instagram wearing clothing that was marked as “developed by Yeezy and GAP” by using the hashtag #WESTDAYEVER expressing his excitement. And to confirm the same Kanye also posted the logo for their new collaboration.

The Yeezy Gap line will include apparel for men, women, and children at affordable prices which would launch in the year 2021. This collaboration would also include shoes that GAP never had before although this might cause harm to Kanye because of his collaboration with Adidas prior. This partnership would include Kanye’s “design vision” along with ideas of his “expressions” at the Gap stores and digital channels.

“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his Yeezy brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” mentioned Mark Breitbard, Global Head of Gap Brand.

Gap however was struggling with their sales and lost their brand identity past few years and been facing quite some losses and with the Covid situation they were expecting fall down with a steeper slope but luckily this partnership worked just in time.

This partnership is for 10 years but with an option to renew after five-years and also helped Gap’s shares jump since 1980. With this collaboration Gap plans to earn about $1 billion by the 5 year mark and the same would help Yeezy gain equity and royalties.

This news made Kanye’s music fans even more excited and happy for him as he had written about working at a Gap store as a teen expressing with lyrics of “Spaceship,” on his 2004 College Dropout album. Hence this collaboration is a win-win for everyone.
