Designer in Focus – Ohaila Khan
Young, well-traveled, rooted in fashion and Mumbai based designer Ohaila Khan, alumni of the London College of Fashion specializes in Indian and European collection. Her strengths lie in embroidery and classic cuts, which have been incorporated in all her collections.
Daughter of Tanveer Khan, who has a fashion export house and caters to some well-known couture brands, Ohaila’s interest in fashion was shaped since a young age. However, she did not rest on the laurels of her father to carve a path for herself. Khan went to work with some famous fashion houses in London, Paris, Milan and New York post which she came down to India and worked with ace designer Manish Malhotra as an Assistant Designer. She also worked with her father before venturing to start her own brand.
Ohaila has her client base in India as well as in Europe and the Middle-East. Her collection is meant for women who dare to be different and are comfortable in their own skin.
EUROPEAN COLLECTION
Ohaila Khan has shown her collection at the Milan Fashion Week which featured dresses with embroidery and bomber jackets. This collection was targeted at a younger clientele.

BRIDAL COLLECTION
Ohaila Khan’s Bridal Collection is meant for the bride and her entourage. The collection can be worn either for the big day, pre-wedding functions or reception. Given that the wedding day and the festivities pre and post-wedding are a busy day for the bride, the collection is flowy, which leaves room to move freely, it does not restrict, thus letting the bride enjoy her day to the hilt.

CHANTREALLE
Ohaila Khan debuted her Chantrealle Collection at the India Beach Fashion Week 2018. The collection was inspired by the fold of the wild mushrooms. The showstopper for this collection was actress, Swara Bhaskar.

THE VISION OF SALOME
The Vision of Salome is an ode to the Flapper Girls of the 1920s who represented contempt for convention. Hence, the collection has black and gold as its color scheme.
