Coachella Valley Music & Art is California’s most happening event in the world and this year Indian artist Diljit Dosanjh made headlines. His debut at this much celebrated music festival made heads turn and Californians sway to the Indian music.
Diljit Dosanjh, known for his upbeat Punjabi songs and his impeccable fashion choices, sang his popular hits like ‘Lemonade’ in his statement turban styled with a black kurta and tehmat. The music aficionado, Mr Dosanjh wore a very muted style but chose to pair it up with bright eye-catching yellow gloves that highlight his love for performing arts (A true showman we believe!).

His energetic performance had American music producer, DJ Diplo who has founded the global dancehall group ‘Major Lazer’ grooving and moving to one of Diljit’s hit songs ‘Patialia Peg’.
His star-studded fan base, including Kareena Kapoor Khan (co-star Udta Punjab), Alia Bhatt (co-star from Udta Punjab), and Indian Rapper and singer Badshah, took to Instagram to show how proud they are of Diljit Dosanjh for making history by being the first Punjabi artist to perform at Coachella. While Kareena Kapoor Khan called him “the OG”, Arjun Kapoor called him “the GOAT”, and similarly many other praises poured in with innovative titles from B’town.
Diljit showed us that music has no language but of the heart. He left a mark of Indian music at Indio, California that can be the trail to newer music artists emerging from the nation.
