Danny Reinke: With his new Prêt-à-Couture collection for autumn/winter 2025/26, Danny Reinke presents a work that not only sets fashionable but also social accents. “90 Seconds to Midnight” combines the dark tales of Heinrich Hoffmann’s Struwwelpeter with the scientific metaphor of the Doomsday Clock, a symbol of the likelihood of a man-made global catastrophe. This doomsday clock is currently just 90 seconds before midnight. A wake-up call that calls
for resilience, resilience and determination—the main characteristics that Heinrich Hoffmann attributes to his protagonists – in order to save us from the apocalypse.

The collection reinterprets the rebellious facets of Struwwelpeter and sets a powerful symbol for new beginnings, freedom, and effectiveness. With a unique combination of elegant couture aesthetics with striking punk elements of the 80s, it reflects the spirit of rebellion: nonconformist, fearless, and full of energy. “90 Seconds to Midnight” is a powerful fusion of historical influence, dark symbolism, and rebellious design. She draws inspiration from the Biedermeier period and consciously breaks with its conservative and reserved characteristics in order to formulate a modern call for self-liberation and change.
A palette of dark colors underlines the menace of the dark doomsday atmosphere and the Struwwelpeter stories. Earthy brown and black tones, deep green, and intense red dominate the designs and create a haunting aesthetic. The rebellious elements of the collection are expressed in details such as pointed rivets and distinctive lacing. Roughened surfaces and fringed holes create a lascivious used look. Those punk-inspired accents are a symbol of nonconformity and the urge to break through traditional norms. The use of shiny Swarovski crystals gives the designs a mystical depth and artfully highlights the motif of the approaching midnight, the approaching catastrophe.
Sophisticatedly draped evening gowns allegorically represent the elegance and exuberance of the Biedermeier period while being deconstructed into a tattered, torn look. Pants with double cuffs appear as if they are threatening to slip off the hips, as intended, and give the silhouettes a casual nonchalance. Reinterpreted punk band shirts, combined with classic items of clothing made from a variety of tweed fabrics, give the collection an unconventional, harmonious dynamic. A special highlight is the coat, created in collaboration with the textile designer Hannah Kaplan, which was felted from all leftover fabric from the collection production.
