The much-awaited sequel to the horror-comedy Stree , which was released in 2018, is finally here and Stree 2 is everything we had hoped for and it’s a best comedy horror film. It starts from where the first film left off where the people of Chanderi are still recovering from the haunting that Stree, the female spirit, had given them.
The movie tells a story of a group of friends struggling to find a new life. However, their joy is short-lived, when Stree comes back even more ferocious than before in order to annihilate everyone. But now she is back, and it is up to these friends to come up with yet another plan to neutralize her before she destroys the town.
It remains amazing for Stree 2 that it has equally utilized the comedy and horror genres. All in all there are quite a few moments where you really want to jump out of your seat with a start and there are also moments that make you want to laugh out loud. Another strength of this film is the great pacing and it was rarely slow at any point in the film.
First of all, let me tell you that the cast of the Stree 2 is simply great. The lead actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor once again are seen playing Vicky and Shruti beautifully and credibly. Other Indie talents Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and the new comer Abhishek Banerjee make a lot of contribution and give a lot of spirit to the film.
Another merit going to this film is the use of special effects. The times when Stree shows itself are quite, well, scary, but the whole cinematography looks really impressive. In terms of setting up a believable and atmospheric world the filmmakers have not disappointed at all.
