Look for an Extra Badge or Logo
Most manufacturers have branded features or logos for their electric variants. For instance, the letter “T” is quite an obvious indication of a vehicle being electric, given that Tesla only makes electric vehicles. Other brands may add letters to the model name, such as “EV” or “Electric,” or use specific emblems. Nissan electric models, for instance, come with a blue “Zero Emissions” badge.
Unique Design Indicators
Most electric cars have designs which maximize efficiency. Many have been observed to have aerodynamic shapes and sleek lines because EVs have minimized air resistance. Also, some may appear more futuristic or minimalist as opposed to their gasoline counterparts. Such details make new models stand out.
Charging Port Instead of Fuel Tank Cap
Electric vehicles have a charging port that can be located either in the front, rear, or side and you should look for it approximately in the same place where you’d find a gas car’s fuel tank cap. Hybrids too share this characteristic, and if the charging port is covered completely, it might easily reveal the car as a fully electric vehicle. Certain EVs come with special tech, including regenerative braking and instant power monitoring, which rarely happens in conventional gas-guzzlers.
