BANNG Bar, Bandra Bangkok After Dark, Meets Bombay Energy

Sawasdee, Mumbai! BANNG Bar brings Bangkok’s electric energy to Bandra after dark. Two-Michelin- starred Chef Garima Arora and restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani have joined forces with Bangkok’s own Attapon De-Silva, Beverage Consultant and affectionately known as “The Potion Master”, to bring Bandra a bar that feels raw, cheeky, and electric. Designed as a Thai street bar, BANNG Bar pulses with terracotta tones, artisanal metalwork, and hawker-style murals. The lights drop low, the music hums, and the room shifts from laid-back to full-throttle, an atmosphere built for cocktails that demand centre stage. It’s the downstairs alter ego to the relaxed sabai sabai dining room upstairs, a journey from slow meals to nights that are pure sanuk (good times).

Attapon, one of Asia’s most celebrated bartenders, has defined Bangkok’s cocktail culture with bars like Teens of Thailand (Asia’s 50 Best Bars), Asia Today, Tax, Independence, and G.O.D. For BANNG Bar, he’s created a program that isn’t just a list of drinks but a cultural exchange: Bangkok in spirit, in flavour, in energy, brought to Bombay with complete honesty. Split into three moods; Fresh & Fizzy, Moody & Boozy, and Umami & Yummy, his menu captures the many shades of a Bangkok night. Fizzy kicks things off bright and playful. The Sabai Sundowner pairs gin with rambutan, betel leaf, lime gel, palm seeds, and a spritz of fizz; Rayaleans tropical with finger root vodka, toasted coconut, and mushroom soy; while Zabtood is a tequila, turmeric, and chili mix that lives up to its name, “burning bum.”

Moody & Boozy takes the tempo lower and the flavours deeper. The White Lotus Martini is as elegant as it is punchy, layering gin with white turmeric-infused LilletBlanc and garlic brine, while Soi 11 channels the late-night chaos of Bangkok’s legendary street with scotch, white wine reduction, molasses, and mushroom soy bitters. For Umami & Yummy, expect rich, savoury, and surprising combinations. The Phi Phi Colada reinvents a classic with chilli rum, pineapple, passionfruit, honey, and a velvety salted egg cream. The Andaman, nicknamed “the sea in a glass,” stirs dry squid-infused vodka, guava, Nam Jim seafood, coconut vinegar, and squid ink, finished with a playful garnish mimicking waves. Silk & Spice layers tequila with Chinese five spices, molasses, and coconut water, while Yellow beams bright with white rum, coconut milk, yellow curry, ginger flower nectar, and pineapple.

Zero-proof creations prove that Bangkok’s fun doesn’t always have to come with a buzz. The Chia Maria fizzes with roselle, strawberry, and chia seeds; the Kung Fu Pandan mixes pandan, makrut lime, cucumber, and coconut jelly for a refreshing kick; and Mylo hits nostalgia hard with Milo, Southern Thai tea, and condensed coconut milk. Bold, inventive, and unapologetically Thai, they mirror Attapon’sBangkok roots while pairing seamlessly with BANNG Bar’s playful food.

The cocktails are matched with bar bites designed to fuel the night: The Sabai 7/11 Chaknas are authentic Thai packaged snacks, to satisfy your Bangkok convenience store snack cravings, while the Pattaya Nachos with crispy wontons and spicy avocado, late-night BANNG Cup Noodles, gooey cheese-and-ham Cigar Rolls (a cheeky nod to Thailand’s 7/11 sandwiches).

The menu features a Ping Bar section, where Bangkok’s legendary skewer culture meets cocktail hour offering bold bites like Tom Yum Chicken Balls wrapped in crispy egg noodles, Pork with Pla Ra and Toasted Rice Powder, and Tofu with Lookchin Sauce and Achad.

Beyond the skewers, the menu also features standout late-night treats like Khao Mun Gai Chicken Wings served with ginger soy sauce, Crab Cold Yellow Curry, a refreshing mix of cucumber granita, chilled yellow curry, and bits and bobs. The Kanom Buang Waffles, a DIY pulled jackfruit salad with coconut dressing, Together, these offerings create a night that balances high-octane drinks with cheeky, crave-worthy bites designed to keep the party going.

Nestled in the heart of Bandra, BANNG’s design is a tale of two moods, brought to life by Studio RENESA under Principal Architect Sanchit Arora. The ground floor is a minimalist, terracotta-toned Thai street bar, a hawker-style escape with artisanal metal details, muted lighting, and street-style murals that keep the energy warm and easy. Upstairs, the mood shifts to an immersive, theatrical world of deep reds, bold textures, origami-inspired lighting, and sculptural installations, blending the flamboyance of Bangkok’s nightlife with playful Indian artistry. Together, the two levels guide guests on a journey from high-energy, cocktail-fuelled nights to slow, indulgent meals, bridging two cities, two cultures, and two ways of having a very, very good time.

At BANNG Bar, the rules are simple: come hungry, come thirsty, and come ready to swap Bandra’s skyline for a Bangkok bar. The lights drop low, the drinks kick up, and before you know it, you’re caught somewhere between last call and a Bangkok after-party. This isn’t just another night out, it’s a passport stamp in a glass.
