The Deccan Odyssey food festival at the Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road is the place to go if you want to partake in a dining experience that is absolutely genuine and representative of the cuisine of South India. This event lasts for seven days starting 11th September 2023 and contains a vast selection of delicacies from all across the area, all of which were cooked by the renowned Chef Shri Bala.
The Style.World was just recently extended an invitation to attend the festival, and we have to say that the food truly blew our minds. Incredible flavours, gorgeous presentation, and superb service were all hallmarks of this dining experience.
The following is a list of some of the foods that we tasted:
1.These lentil fritters, known as Pattnam Pakoda, had a flavour profile that was just right.
2.These steamed rice cakes, prepared by Ella Ada, had a fluffy and light consistency.
3.These doughnuts, known as Kari Kola Urundai, were stuffed with a spicy potato concoction and served as a savoury snack.
4.Fish Fry at Apollo: This fish fry had a wonderful crunch to it and was cooked to perfection.
5.The dish known as Seppan Fry consisted of stir-fried veggies that were bursting with flavour.
6.Aviyal is a classic dish from South India that consists of a variety of vegetables that are cooked in a sauce that is based on coconut.
7.The lentil and vegetable stew known as sambar is a typical dish found in South Indian cuisine.
8.Kozhi Chettinad was an exceptionally tasty dish that consisted of chicken cooked in a masala that was prepared in the Chettinad tradition.
9.The lamb in this meal, known as Royyala Iguru, was tender and full of flavour after being braised in yoghurt sauce.
10.These two different kinds of biryani, the Thalassery Mutton Biryani and the Ambur Mutton Biryani, both have a lot of flavour.
11.Bisi Bele Bath is a common choice for morning food in Karnataka. This meal is made with rice and lentils.
12.The Mutta Mala and the Cloud Pudding in Mysore Pak Mud Crumble were both delicious desserts that we sampled. Both were mouthwateringly good.
We went to the Deccan Odyssey food festival at the Courtyard by Marriott on Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, and it was an incredible experience for us overall. The ambience was just right, the service was outstanding, and the meal was out of this world good. To anyone who enjoys the food of South India, we wholeheartedly endorse attendance at this festival.
There will be live music and dancing acts at the event in addition to the cuisine that will be available. This is an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in the culture of South India and gain a deeper understanding of the region’s illustrious past.
