LOYA Qissa x House of Drip: A Symphony of Craftsmanship
Food has a beautiful way of bringing stories to life, but it is rare to see the same story told through two different arts at the exact same time. TheStyle.World recently visited LOYA, the acclaimed North Indian restaurant set inside the peaceful, green surroundings of Taj West End, Bengaluru, where a simple lunch turned into an extraordinary visual performance.

The occasion was especially momentous as it marked the restaurant’s 3rd anniversary, celebrated under the theme “Ode to LOYA”. To mark this milestone, the third edition of LOYA Qissa: An Ode to Craft brought an exclusive collaboration with Bengaluru’s luxury candle atelier, House of Drip. Designed as a signature LOYA experience, Grand Chef Rajesh Wadhwa and master wax sculptors, including Deepa Yashwini, worked side-by-side. On one side, Chef Wadhwa prepared authentic North Indian food, while right beside him, wax artists shaped hyper-realistic candle replicas of the same dishes in real time.

Food Meets Candle Art: Bengaluru’s First Look at Unmatched Craftsmanship
For the very first time, Bengaluru witnessed how food and wax art could look so breathtakingly identical. Stepping into LOYA Bangalore feels like walking into a warm North Indian cuisine restaurant that celebrates the rich flavors of the Northern frontier. Set amid open greens, stone architecture, and serene water features, the atmosphere set the stage for an awe-struck afternoon.

While known far and wide as a flagship spot for rich meats, the kitchen also serves delightfully delicate north indian veg dishes, balancing the menu for everyone. Watching the chefs work up close was a joy as they shared old-school cooking methods—from the gentle smoke of dhungar and the crackle of spice-infused baghar to the slow, deep magic of dum.

The highlight of our afternoon was LOYA’s famous Kala Pathar Gosht—a tender black mutton delicacy cooked over charred walnut shells, inspired by traditional Kashmiri cuisine and mountain recipes rooted in Himalayan food. As the chef plated the dish, the wax artist created a twin version beside it. With identical colors, garnishes, and plating, the real food and the candle art were completely indistinguishable until wicks were placed on top.
The vegetarian creations were just as charming, including melt-in-your-mouth Dahi Ke Kebab decorated down to the microgreens. For any true North Indian bhukkad or food lover who enjoys famous North Indian dishes, LOYA Bangalore shows that real cooking is all about heart and attention to detail.

An Interactive Signature Workshop
Hosted by Maanvi, PR Director for Taj Hotels, the afternoon moved into a fun, hands-on workshop led by Deepa Yashwini and master artisans. Guests were guided step by step to create their own candle art inspired by LOYA‘s sweet Doodh Jalebi, giving us a lovely souvenir to carry home.
