It’s been over a week since we last saw our favourite celebs all decked up for the Met Gala. The grand event is not new to our ears. Being one of the most anticipated events of the year that takes place in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Met Gala and its red carpet kept us excited the entire week.

In order to pay tribute to the world renowned late designer Karl Lagerfeld, the 2023 Met Gala has the theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’  where those who were appearing in the event were to encapsulate the element of the great designer.

Though each and every celeb dropped something pleasurable to our eyes, here are a few iconic looks that we absolutely loved:

  • Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa wore a Chanel ball gown in white and black which was similar to the design which Claudia Schiffer wore in the Autumn Winter 1992 couture collection. The singer’s look was put together by the celebrity stylist Lorenzo Posocco while her hair and makeup was done by Paul Hamlin and Pat McGrath, respectively.

  • Florence Pugh

Florence shaved her head at her first met gala. She revealed her transformation on the steps of one of New York City’s most illustrious museums, with a wired hat that boasted feathered detailing. She wore a stunning white ball gown with a black tulle bow from the Valentino collection, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, with Alex Babsky and Pete Lux handling her makeup and hair.

  • Doja Cat

The rapper, who is 27 years old, made her Met Gala debut by providing the cat choupette realness, sporting an eye-catching glittery dress with an intense ruffle trail and cat ears. She adorned the attire curated by the designer Oscar de la Renta which was styled by Brett Alan Nelson. The artist initially chose to go bald and just highlight the stunning beauty of her gown. She completed her appearance with an exceptionally done prosthetic feline face which was finished by the makeup artist Malina Stearns and Ernesto Casillas.

  • Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West arrived in pearls, showcasing the luxury and centerpiece of Karl Lagerfeld’s collection. The actress had 50,000 freshwater pearls placed on her by Daniel Roseberry of designer Schiaparelli, featuring the hairstyle by Chris Appleton. The signature makeup of Kim was done by Mario Dedivanovic. A dozen artisans worked on the look for more than a thousand hours, which also echoes her encrusted moment from her past playboy cover 2007.

The ‘Gangubai’ actress was witnessed in an all white pearl dress which was inspired by the final bridal dress from Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel Autumn-Winter Couture collection. Curated by world renowned designer Prabal Gurung, Alia’s look was styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, which had a long trail of pearls and edgy fingerless gloves. Her elegant makeup was done by Puneet B Saini while Mike Desir did her sleek hairstyle.

Well, apart from these celebs, many more also won our hearts either with their gestures or with their exceptional attire (Jared Leto! We are so in awe with your bold step). As this years Met Gala concluded, we are eagerly waiting for the year 2024 to bring in freshness to us with impeccable styles (our eyes are on you celebs!).
